Giant Cell Tumor of Bone

Giant Cell Tumor of Bone

A giant cell tumor of bone is a type of bone tumor that usually occurs around the ends of long bones, like the knees or wrists. It’s called "giant cell" because it contains large cells that can be seen under a microscope. These tumors are typically benign (not cancerous), but are aggressive and may cause pain or swelling in the affected area.

They may also cause destruction of nearby joints. Surgical management is often recommended.
